A little about me :)
My love for Chinese food and the city life
Hi, I'm Neha! I grew up mostly in China due to my dad's job but was born in a small town called Tiruvannamalai in India. We moved around Asia quite a bit since I was very young where I've lived in Hangzhou, Singapore, Chennai and Shanghai. I grew up speaking Tamil, Chinese and English and started loving to try new food especially in Shanghai. These memories and experience I had in my childhood and school have expanded my perspective. More importantly, it has transformed me into the creative person today always curious to try new things and learn more with an open and diverse mind.
Introducing Interaction Design at Emily Carr University
I've always had a passion for all things 'artsy', be it drawing, painting, clay work, paper quilling ect. I discovered Interaction design through an Emily Carr Alum and through chatting about the digital future with my dad. I quickly saw the ability to do what I love, for the rest of my life - A job where I can be creative, use my logical problem solving and still make people have happy moments in life.
Where to next?
From there, I moved to Canada to major in Interaction Design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Since then, I've explored the nature of Canada, attended many design events, discovered the Asian food scene in Vancouver, met new people everyday, traveled to Thailand with my sister and even co-founded a UI Design hackathon with 200 stakeholders!
As for the next chapter, I'm excited to dive into the industry after graduation this year. I'm eager to share my ideas and skills in design but above all learn from all the design enthusiasts around the world!
